Smith Finishes NCAAs with 2nd-Team All-American Diving Honors |

Source: BYU Press Release (3/19/99) ATHENS, Ga. — In the second day of the NCAA women's swimming and diving championships, BYU junior Rachelle Smith placed 23rd on the three-meter diving board. Smith, who averaged 474.15 points on the 3M this season, finished Friday with a score of 441.90. On Thursday, Smith, who is the only Cougar competing at nationals this year, earned Second-Team All-America honors by placing 15th on the one-meter board. Top finishers Friday were winner Jenny Keim of Miami (576.90), Laura
Wilkinson of Texas, who took second (567.55) and WAC champion Jenny Lingamfelter
of Southern Methodist, who placed third (547.90). Although competition
continues through Saturday, Smith finished her events today with the 3M.
