Heshi Robertson

About Chris Hale:  "This guy keeps going like the Energizer Bunny.  In practice, he’s always coming over to the sideline full of energy and ready to keep on going.  The DBs all wonder when he’s ever going to quit."

When asked if it was big to beat UW:  "Oh yeah.  We were the better team last year, and they got lucky to beat us.  This year we’re a better team than last year, and we didn’t have any doubt that we were going to win – I mean, no disrespect to Washington, but we just knew it all along."

Brian Gray

When asked if he watched Hale’s TD reception:  "Oh yeah, I was watching it.  –And praying at the same time.  Our freshmen were huge today.  They really stepped up, and they’re going to have a huge impact for us.  They were absolutely huge."

About beating Washington:  "It feels too good. . . too good."

Owen Pochman

About situation at end of game:  "We should have been at least three more points ahead.  Personally I feel like I let the team down."

About how he would have felt if he’d kicked a winning FG at the end:  "I would have been excited, of course.  You don’t do all that training to miss almost all of your attempts, so it would have been nice to end with a make.  I’m just glad that we won."

About first missed field goal:  "I think I just took it for granted.  I tried to guide it through with my foot, and it didn’t follow through like I thought it would."

About second:  "After the PAT was blocked, I think I tried to come around with my foot more, maybe to miss a blocker or something, and I got the same result as the first one.  You know, ending up feeling like an idiot."

Rob Morris

About Hale’s TD:  "It was a good play, and not the last from him.  He has a lot of potential -- he’s a gamebreaker."

About not having a lot of tackles:  "You know, people expect me to have 10 tackles or 12 tackles or 15 tackles every game, and I’ve never had those goals for myself.  The truth of the matter is, they weren’t running toward me tonight."

On Feterik’s big game:  "We’re just trying to figure out who was wearing Kevin’s jersey out there tonight.  It was like Jimmy Mac was back in town.  I don’t want to hear any more booing from anybody."

About Tuiasosopo:  "Marques is just an incredible athlete who played a great game.  Any time you get an athlete that good as your quarterback, you’re going to be able to make things happen on the field.  Tonight you saw two quarterbacks at their best – Marques for the second half, and Kevin for the whole game."

About attention:  "You know, during the game I started to think, 'I don’t want to be the Freight Train, I don’t want any more whistles around.'  Then LaVell talked to me after the game and helped me to see that I don’t need to singlehandedly win games.  I just need to do my part like everybody else on the team."

About beating UW:  "It’s always big to win against a PAC-10 opponent.  That’s a PAC-10 team with a lot of speed and talent.  It’s a big deal to beat them."

Kevin Feterik

When asked, “Who WAS wearing your jersey tonight?”:  "We’ve moved the ball all spring and all fall long, so we just kept on going like we have been."

Self-evaluation:  "I thought I did a good job of throwing the ball away when I needed to.  Last year I probably would have taken a sack in those instances.  I just have to realize that I can get rid of the ball, and we’ll pick up the first down on the next play."

When asked what he was thinking going into the 4th and 10 play:  "I was trying not to think.  When I started thinking, I threw that interception.  You know, I had a feeling like I was going to throw an interception before that – I hate that feeling.  But when we got the ball back on that last possession, all of my teammates had that same look in their eyes.  We all knew we were going to score.  We have a lot more confidence than we did last year.  Everyone believes that we can score at will."

Chris Hale

When asked to describe his TD catch:  "It was pretty simple, really.  I just tried to run away from the defender, and catch the ball."

Asked about his dad being the AD:  "It was nice to prove that I can play.  I try not to let it bother me if other people make that link, but it was nice to show that I’m on the team because I can make plays."

When asked about his pre-season expectations for himself:  "I thought that maybe I’d dress for some games, and maybe get in during some blowouts or whatever.  I knew this fall that some of the receivers were injured, and opportunities just opened up for me, and I took advantage of them."

Luke Staley

When asked about his feelings on playing his first game and scoring two touchdowns:  "It’s just my dream come true to be here and to play in a Cougar uniform.  The touchdowns are just icing on the cake."

Margin Hooks

When asked if the “old” BYU passing game is back:  "Yeah, the passing game’s back. . . with a little more style."

AD Val Hale

About the new uniforms:  " Tonight a lot of people commented on them to me, and not a single comment was negative.  Tomorrow morning, everyone across America will be talking about BYU.  They may love the new uniforms, or hate them, but regardless, they will be talking about BYU."

When asked how he felt about his son catching the game-winning pass:  "I about died on that first pass that he didn’t quite get.  On the second on, I could see that he was open, and when I saw that Kevin threw it to him, I thought, 'Just catch it, baby, just catch it.'  Honestly, I went nuts when he scored – I would have gone nuts no matter who caught it, but especially because it was Chris."
