Steve Cleveland

General comments about the game: "This is obviously a good win.  The way we did it wasn't real pretty.  For about 39 minutes we played pretty well defensively.  We had to really prove to ourselves that we could win again.  That was a big win for BYU.  We still have the opportunity to play somewhere in the postseason."

About the free throw misses at the end of the game:  "I'll have any of those young men shooting free throws.  Terrell and Mekeli are both outstanding free throw shooters.  They made it interesting, though.  Those have been our money guys all year long.  9 times out of 10 that won't happen."

One the play of Michael Vranes:  "Vranes was huge.  When Todd or Michael score in double figures we haven't lost a game.  Michael's defense at the end was great.  I'm really proud of him.  If he can score baskets for us, we can beat good teams."

Commenting on Rivers defense on Kambala:  "He's the only guy on our team strong enough to keep him off the blocks.  I think Kaspar shot the ball as well as I've ever seen.  Les [Rivers] defended him well when we needed it.  Not so much that he stopped him from scoring, but his presence was felt."

What if Diggs would have made that last shot:  "I would probably had a heart attack right there on the floor.  What goes around comes around.  We got beat on a runner Thursday, tonight they missed the runner."

Mekeli Wesley

What if Diggs would have made that last shot:  "I would have felt like I let the team down.  I missed two free throws.  We escaped with a win.  It would have been hard to swallow."

About controlling himself on the court:  "I think the refs did a good job.  I've been trying to keep my cool."
 

Terrell Lyday

About the play of Vranes and Christensen:  "It takes all of us to win.  We don't have a real big or deep team." 

What this win means:  "I think it was was mainly to give confidence for us, the fans, the coaches, everyone." 

Any advice for Utah on how to beat UNLV:  "No."  [big laugh from reporters]

Reason for missing free throws at the end:  "I wanted to make the game more interesting...No, I guess I need to concentrate more."

About defending Diggs on the last shot:  "I just tried to disrupt his shot without fouling him."  [Lyday:  "And disrupt it you did."]
