Bill Evans (Head Coach, Arizona State)

Why they lost:  "I thought the effort was good, the intensity was good.  It wil be difficult for us to beat anybody if Eddie House goes 0-16."

Why Eddie House was off:  "He just missed shots.  He's gotta get back in the gym and get his stroke back."

If BYU's defense caused House's poor shooting:  "Let's give BYU credit, they played good defense, but Eddie House has played against good defenses his whole life."

About all the fouls:  "I thought the officiating was great.  Best officiated game we've had since I've been in the Pac-10."
 

Steve Cleveland

Comments on the players:  "Silester Rivers did a great job defensively.  Montague is a tough kid.  He got a huge gash and came back and played tough.  I was pleased how Terrell contested all of Eddie House's shots." 

About the offensive execution:  "We ran four dead ball plays and scored on all four of them.  I was really pleased with that."

Status of Dan Howard:  I haven't made a decision whether we'll medical redshirt him or play him later.  Nick Taggart will get some more minutes. 

On ASU's inexperience: "They are young.  We are going to play these guys the next four years."

Status of Rivers:  "Rivers is better today than he was a week ago.  He's not limping.  Now he needs to get in shape, be aggressive and get back his confidence. "

Mekeli Wesley

Why he played so well after getting four fouls:  "I don't know, I seem to focus a little more with fouls."

On starting the season 4-1:  "This week we have 3 huge games.  If we win out, we'll be 6-1 and that would be a great start."

Terrell Lyday

If he's ever seen someone shoot 0-16:  "One time in JC, I went 1-19. (laughs from reporters)"

On the run at the end of the game:  "Once we get on a Cougar roll, we're unstoppable."

Matt Montague

How he got the cut over his left eye:  I went in for a layup.  He grabbed me around the waist and pulled me with him.  He did it to another time also.  I hit the ground pretty hard.  It feels alright now.  I'm going in tomorrow to get more stitches.

On tonight's win:  "It's big.  Every win brings more fans."
